Confirm the scope before moving everything
Review which rooms, walls, ceilings, doors and trim are included. Ask where access is needed and which furniture should be moved. A clear plan avoids preparing areas that are outside the job.
Put away personal and fragile items
Remove small valuables, fragile décor and personal items from the work area. Discuss heavier furniture, window coverings and wall-mounted objects with the team so handling responsibilities are clear.
Plan a usable route through your home
Occupied homes need practical access. Discuss bedrooms, bathrooms, stairs and home-office requirements. Pets and children should have a comfortable place away from active work areas and wet coatings.
Point out concerns early
Show the team any known leaks, damp areas, loose finishes or damaged surfaces. Explain whether a stain’s cause has been repaired. Unknown older ceiling materials should be assessed before texture is disturbed.
Allow for drying and curing
Dry to the touch does not always mean ready for cleaning, furniture contact or regular wear. Ask about the product’s care instructions and when to return items to their normal position. The right timing depends on the coating and conditions.
Keep the communication simple
Confirm who to contact, how changes will be discussed and when the final scope review will happen. If your move-in or listing date changes, tell the team as early as possible.
